WHO’S BEHIND COMMON GOOD GLOBAL?
SHAHARAZAD ABUEL-EALEH
I’m driven by the belief that we are all responsible for raising each other up, and I’ve dedicated my career to supporting marginalised communities realise their rights - because I’m from those communities, and I’ve benefitted from those whose shoulders I stand on.
I’m a strategic communications professional with more than two decades of experience working at the intersection of human rights, social justice, and international advocacy. I’m proud to be a British Asian woman of mixed heritage, and my family’s lived experience of extreme poverty, conflict, child labour, and discrimination have been deep motivations for the work I do. They’ve led me to support incredibly passionate activists all over the world, working to effect lasting change in education, refugee and migrant rights, child and forced labour, and child sexual exploitation and abuse, including child marriage.

Before founding Common Good Global, I spent over a decade in senior leadership roles within global human rights movements. But I’ve also done all the behind-the-scenes work: whether that’s working with a multitude of partners to deliver an impactful press statement or building a completely new campaign identity, website, and social following, I’ve worked at every stage of the comms process.
I’ve learned that powerful storytelling is not a luxury; it is a prerequisite for building coalitions, securing resources, and engaging the decision-makers that make systemic change possible. But today we live in a world where stories and messages are blasted at us every minute, and it’s more and more challenging to decipher what’s real and what’s not. I founded Common Good Global in 2022 to share my experience and insights to support any organisation to find its voice, tell authentic stories which cut through the noise, and realise their goal to achieve social good.
